Off Campus Universe
Elle Kennedy's Briar University books are the reason I now know more about college hockey than I ever planned to. Three connected series plus standalones that sit outside them, and the numbering doesn't match the reading order, which is exactly why this page exists.

Where to Start
The Deal. Every time. It's the first Off-Campus book, it built the whole world, and it's the one Prime Video adapted.
After that, read the universe in publication order rather than series order. The series overlap in time, and the callbacks land better that way. Everything below is in publication order.
Off-Campus
The originals. Four hockey players sharing a house off campus, one book per couple, and the women who wreck their plans. Contemporary romance with a college setting, banter-forward, and spicier than those cheerful covers let on. This is the series that turned Briar University into a place readers talk about like it's real.
The Deal, The Mistake, The Score, The Goal, and then The Legacy. More on The Legacy further down, because it's the one that trips people up.
Briar U
The spin-off, and the one people misread as a sequel. Briar U overlaps the Off-Campus timeline instead of picking up after it. New couples, same rink, same energy, plus familiar faces in the background. The Chase, The Risk, The Play, The Dare.

Campus Diaries
The next generation at Briar. Three books so far: The Graham Effect, The Dixon Rule, The Charlie Method. Same campus, new group, and a jump forward in time.
Fair warning: The premise of this series gives away where the earlier books land. If you're still working through Off-Campus, save these for later.
Briar Universe Standalones
Love Song and Bad Idea sit outside the numbered series. Kennedy's publisher files them as Briar universe novels, both are next-gen, and both read better once you know the world.
A Note on The Legacy
This is the one that confuses everybody, so here it is plainly. The Legacy is numbered book five in Off-Campus, but it isn't a fifth couple's story. It's an 85,000-word book made up of four novellas, one for each of the original couples, picking up three years after graduation. It published in 2021, five years after The Goal and a year after The Dare.
So the numbering says read it fifth. Publication order says read it after The Dare. Both work. Read it fifth if you want the original crew's story to feel closed before you move on. Save it for after Briar U if you'd rather take the universe in the order it actually arrived.
