Emily Henry is the one I hand to people who say they don't read romance. She writes the kind of book that makes you feel everything and somehow never lets you down. Book Lovers is the one that really got me (look at the title, of course it did), and Great Big Beautiful Life reminded me how good it feels to fall all the way into a story.
Where to Start
Anywhere. That's the honest answer. Every Emily Henry novel stands completely alone, so there's no wrong door.
If you want a nudge, Beach Read is where most people begin, and it's the one that started her whole run. Book Lovers is where I'd send you if you want to know why people get obsessed.

Here's the reason to go in publication order even though you don't have to. The books quietly share a world. A character from one turns up as a passing mention in another, a couple you already love wanders through someone else's story for a page. None of it matters to the plot, and you'll miss all of it if you skip around. Reading in order turns those moments into a small reward for paying attention.
What's Coming
Henry took 2026 off, her first year without a book since Beach Read. Her next novel is planned for summer 2027, and she's described it as a very traditional romantic comedy. No title yet.
In the meantime, a deluxe edition of Book Lovers arrives August 18, 2026, with the kind of special-edition treatment that makes a favorite worth owning twice.
